Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Tobar was born and raised in Ecuador, where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Universidad Central del Ecuador in 2014. He further advanced his education by obtaining a Master’s Degree in Animal Bioscience from the Roslin Institute at the University of Edinburgh in 2016.
As an active member of the Latinx Veterinary Medical Association, Dr. Tobar is proud to provide care for Spanish-speaking clients, helping ensure clear communication and exceptional veterinary care for both pets and their families. He also serves as a board member of the Alexandria Welfare League, where he works to promote awareness and advocacy for issues impacting the health and well-being of companion animals.
Known for his warm, compassionate approach, Dr. Tobar is dedicated to building lasting relationships with clients while providing high-quality medical care. He is passionate about helping animals live long, healthy, and happy lives.
Dr. Tobar resides in the Del Ray neighborhood of Alexandria with his wife, two daughters, and their beloved senior German Shepherdā€“Husky rescue, Shaya. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and attending live music events.
