Brandon was born and raised in Alexandria, and has been passionate about animals his whole life. Working at Hayfield affords him the chance to combine his love of animals with his enjoyment of working with people. When he isn't working, he enjoys relaxing with his mostly uniform mix of fosters and pets.
Hilary grew up in Springfield, Virginia and graduated from Lee High School. After high school she moved to Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to attend culinary school at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania: Academy of Culinary Arts. After culinary school she moved to Asheville, North Carolina to complete her culinary externship at Grove Park Inn Resort and Spa. There she signed on full-time in the Banquets Kitchen. While at the resort, Hilary found herself drawn to the many dogs being walked by their owners. This revived an interest in working with animals. She decided to enroll in the veterinary technician program at Asheville- Buncombe Technical Community College. She graduated in August 2010. After graduation Hilary moved back to Northern Virginia, joining the Hayfield Animal Hospital Team in October 2010. She earned her veterinary technician license in January 2011. Hilary has one cat named Willow, and two family chihuahuas named Jackson and Poco.
Erin was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. She graduated from Stautzenberger College's Veterinary Technician program in 2003. Then in 2005 she also graduated with a Bachelor?s degree in Biology. She has practiced in Ohio, Georgia and Virginia. Erin is a member of American Society of Veterinary Dental Technicians and became a Veterinary Dental Technician in 2006. Erin joined Hayfield Animal Hospital in September 2007, and currently lives in Alexandria with her husband Ben, her daughter Hayley and her cats "Joey" and "Mose".
Jennifer was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. She graduated from Hayfield Secondary School, as well as completed a course in Veterinary Science. She then studied at Northern Virginia Community College and hopes to continue her education and become a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager in the near future. Jennifer has been with Hayfield Animal Hospital since January 2001. Her favorite part of her job is inacting with clients and meeting new patients. Jennifer currently lives in Dumfries, Virginia with her two daughters as well as a pitbull Deuce and a Leopard Gecko Chiquita Banana. In her free time outside of work she enjoys coaching Cheerleading, baking
and attending her daughters Volleyball games.
Dr. Grimes is originally from Nashville, Tennessee and attended the University of Tennessee for both her undergraduate and veterinary degrees-Go Vols! She has special interests in surgery (especially spay and neuter work), feline medicine, and ophthalmology.
In her spare time outside of work, she enjoys taking barre and yoga classes, cooking, and trying new restaurants in the DC area. She currently lives at home with her 3 tortoiseshell cats-Java, Sydney, and Dulce.
Dr. Bowling was born on Fort Belvoir and has lived in Northern Virginia for most of her life. She graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech in May of 1996. Dr. Bowling practiced at Hayfield Animal Hospital her first year after graduation and has been back as part of the Hayfield family since March of 2000. She enjoys being a general practitioner as it allows her to be involved in the many different aspects of small animal medicine and surgery. Her areas of special interest include internal medicine, senior patient care and preventative medicine, with a special focus on client education. Dr. Bowling stays busy caring for her 2 sons. She also enjoys spending time with her family, watching the many different critters that visit her backyard, gardening, and vacationing at the beach. Dr. Bowling lives in Manassas with her husband, her two young sons, and her two cats, Gretchen and Gracie.
Dr. Elizabeth Embree joined Hayfield Animal Hospital in July 2010. She grew up in beautiful Springfield, VA. After graduating from Virginia Tech with an Honors Baccalaureate in Biology and minors in History and Chemistry in 1998, she attended and graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. While in veterinary school, she assisted with an oral-rabies vaccine pilot program in Fairfax County. Her interests include exotics and surgery. Elizabeth lives in Alexandria with her husband, Mike, and a menagerie of pets. (Pictured: Dr.
Dr. Ainsworth received her bachelors degree in Biology from The University of the South, commonly known as Sewanee, in the beautiful Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee. An Alabama native, she returned to her home state to attend veterinary school at Auburn University. Her professional interests include surgery and emergency medicine, and traveling to other countries to perform veterinary services for natives who are otherwise without (she has been to Honduras and Bolivia so far, and hopes to expand this list). Other interests include hiking, kayaking, ballroom dancing, traveling, and watching Auburn football. She lives in Alexandria with 2 cats, but hopes to one day have either a Great Dane or a very large mutt.
Dr. Kerry Skorup grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. Her professional interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and preventative care. Dr. Skorup joined the Hayfield team in 2013 and lives in Arlington with her husband, Brent. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, running, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
Annie has been at Hayfield Animal Hospital since August of 1999. She is a native to Alexandria and currently lives in Woodbridge with her husband Gary, and five pets (2 cats, a guinea pig, and a hamster). Annie graduated from Frostburg State University with a bachelors degree in Biology. She then went on to obtain an associate's degree in Veterinary Technology at NVCC in 2002. She became a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) in November 2007. Annie's interests include dentistry, client communication, and exotic/pocket pet medicine.

Meaghan grew up in the Springfield area and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 2006. After high school she began working for a local Ophthalmologist as a Receptionist as well as study Psychology at NOVA. Soon Meaghan realized her true passion lays in the health and care of animal. In June 2011 Meaghan joined the Hayfield Team as a receptionist. Her favorite part of the job is building client and patient relationships.
Also known as Nate, was born and raised in Alexandria, Virginia where he attended Hayfield Secondary School. From the very beginning he loved animals leading him to apply to our hospital back in 2008, where he began work as a kennel assistant. Nate worked very hard and made his was up to becoming a Veterinary Assistant. After 5 years he decided to take a break to pursue his interest in Taekwondo where he earned his 3rd degree. As much as he enjoyed teach, and found it to be very rewarding, his interests towards the animal world drew him back in. Nate is very proud to announce that he will be going to Veterinary Technician School in August 2015 to further his knowledge for the animal world.
Amanda, a Springfield native and Robert E. Lee alumni, currently works part-time and comes back for full-time during her college breaks. She is currently studying at the University of Mary Washington working towards a B.S. in Biology, where she will graduate in 2016. She is also looking to continue a career in the field of Veterinary Medicine! She's been around animals her whole life and currently owns 3 dogs: Peanut, Daphne, and Zoey and two cats: Esmeralda and Pepper!
Patrick was born and raised in Springfield, Virginia and graduated from West Springfield High School in 2011. He joined Hayfield as a Kennel Assistant shortly before graduating, and continues to work while attending George Mason University to study IT. He’s always loved animals and took many opportunities while growing up to pet-sit. After many years working in the kennels, he became a veterinary assistant where he enjoys meeting clients and their pets. Outside of work and school, he enjoys volunteering with his church’s youth group.
Krystal was born and raised in Forestville, Maryland. She is a graduate of Dr. Henry A. Wise High School and was a volunteer at P.G. County Animal Shelter. Krystal has grown up around animals her whole life including 2 cats and 4 dogs. She is currently majoring in Veterinary Medicine and taking online courses at Penn Foster to become a Vet Tech. She has been part of our team since 2014 as a Veterinary Receptionist.
Victoria has been working at Hayfield Animal Hospital since December 2009. After receiving her associate’s degree from Northern Virginia Community College. She decided to begin Veterinary Technician School through Cedar Valley College. She has always loved animals, and has spent time volunteering at the National Zoo. Hayfield has been a great fit for her! Victoria lives in Springfield and enjoys spending time with her Chihuahua mix, Devon, and her boisterous Golden Retriever, Wilson.

Ann Johnson, LVT
Valeria was born and raised in Los Angeles California. She graduated from Thomas Edison in 2009. After high school she attented Northern Virginia Commnity College and graduated with an Associate of Science. She then continued on to George Mason University and graduated with a B.S in Science in 2013. Currently she is furthering her eduction and will be a Licenced Veterinary Technician in the Summer 2017. In her free time she enjoys going the beach, hiking time with her Beagle Nikko. Valeria has been at Hayfield Animal Hospital since September 2009.
Ann is a native of Vienna VA but has practiced at veterinary hospitals in Utah and Connecticut for the past 10years. She graduated from Penn Foster College in Veterinary Technology in 2011. She has two dogs, a jack russell mix named Dizzy and a rat terrier named Gordon. She has a special interest in Client education, Pain Management and alternative therapies like cold laser and acupuncture. She is working towards her Veterinary Technician Specialty in Clinical Practice as well as becoming a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner. She is married and has two sons. In her free time she enjoys nature photography, hiking and finding local hidden treasures like art festivals and farmers markets..

Dr. Blake Vida is the newest addition to the Hayfield team! Dr. Vida grew up in rural Southbury, Connecticut before moving to the city to obtain his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia, PA.
Following graduation he returned to Connecticut for two years and worked for a pharmaceutical company. In search of more inspiration, he decided to take the plunge and head to graduate school. He received a Masters of Science in Toxicology at the University of Michigan School of Public Health (Go Blue!). While living in Ann Arbor he decided to volunteer at the local animal shelter and it was there he found his calling. He then spent the next four years at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine where he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. His professional interests include ophthalmology, soft tissue surgery, exotic and companion animal medicine.
Outside of work you can find him frequenting various local food carts and participating in recreational sport leagues. He is actively seeking ways enrich his spare time further now that he is no longer living the all-consuming life of a student. He resides in Alexandria.
Dr. Jennifer Falkowski grew up in southern New Jersey before attending the Pennsylvania State University (we are!) for her undergraduate degree in veterinary and biomedical sciences. She attended veterinary school at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. Dr. Falkowski joined the Hayfield family in June 2016. Her primary veterinary interests include internal medicine, exotic s and surgery. Outside of work, she enjoys baking, running, reading, traveling and watching Penn State football! She currently lives in Falls Church with her Bernese Mountain Dog, Ellie, and two cats, Henry and Milo.
